The 5SI and 7SI series alternators by Delco Remy are designed for rugged industrial, agricultural, marine and construction applications where size is an important factor. To suit the aforementioned applications the focus of the design of these alternators has been on debris and contamination resistance, as such they exceed the requirements of the SAE J180 dust test.
