Unlike many heavy duty starters on the market, the 42MT is a straight drive starter, as such it cranks at a higher speed, quickly getting cylinders up to ignition temperature; this makes it well suited to engines with a lower compression ratio as can be found in highly forced induction applications and/or indirect injection.
